Billy C. Henry is the managing partner of Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp and has just marked his 38th anniversary with the company and 45 years funeral service. He is an adjunct professor of Mortuary Science at Delgado Community College in the Funeral Service Education Department. His civic involvement includes past leadership positions in NO/AIDS Task Force, United Services for AIDS of New Orleans, Hospice Foundation of Greater New Orleans, Shelter Resources and the Belle Reve Home. Henry is co-founder of the “Friday Night Before Mardi Gras” charity organization, and is a longtime member of the Steamboat Club of New Orleans as well as the various National, State and local funeral directors associations.
William (Bill) Baird, Jr. is the past president of the New Orleans Funeral Directors Association and has 50 years of experience in helping families make final arrangements for their loved ones. He is a graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in Dallas, Texas. He is involved in many civic associations in his hometown of Slidell, Louisiana, including the Krewe of Dionysius.
Kelly Porte has 25
years of experience in funeral service with the last fifteen years at
Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home. She brings her vast knowledge of serving
customers as they make end of life decisions for themselves or loved ones. She
holds a degree in Mortuary Science from Delgado Community College. Her
involvement in the community includes membership in the Jefferson Chamber of
Commerce and is a volunteer at East Jefferson General Hospital.
Stephen L. Sontheimer is a 4th generation funeral director/consultant whose career has spanned over 50 years of service to families of greater New Orleans. He has been recognized for his leadership in the business, arts, religious and social service communities and for his work in fostering death education. He is a former member and past President of Louisiana Young Presidents Organization and has served on many community boards including Touro Infirmary and LCMC Health, The Archbishop’s Community Appeal Executive Committee, the Contemporary Arts Center and is a former board president of the Jewish Family Service. He was a founder and original board member of Hospice New Orleans.
Buddy Ewing is a funeral director and cemeterian, and has been in the funeral business since
2002. A native of Gulfport, MS, he has
been with Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp since 2015.
He is currently serving as President of the Southern Cemetery, Cremation
& Funeral Association. Ewing is a
licensed funeral director, both in Texas
and Louisiana and holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from
William Carey College. He and his wife
and two children reside in Covington, LA.
