Mary Cecilia Brauner Munsch passed away peacefully on March 23, 2017 at the age of 91. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Joseph C. Munsch; her parents, Robert and Mary Margaret Brauner, her sister Eloise Brauner Anderson (Lee “Jeep” Anderson), and her brother James Brauner. Adored by her daughter Sandra Strande Munster and son-in-law Terry Munster, her grandchildren Kourtney Munster Peters, Blake Munster, and Collin Munster (Desiree); and her great-grandchildren Camille Peters, Rowan Peters, Ella Munster, and Trent Munster. She was a devoted aunt to her nieces and nephews of the Anderson family. Mary was a lifelong resident of New Orleans, a graduate of Sophie B. Wright School, and an active parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church. She was a member of the AARP and the Activity Club as well as an avid bowler. She loved life and enjoyed just about any activity with her family, especially Mardi Gras parades, eating out, traveling and dancing. She never passed up an opportunity to get out on the dance floor. She will be remembered for her loving and caring nature, her devotion to her family, and her faith in God. The family would like to extend its deep appreciation to Sandra Caputi for her many years of devoted care, as well as the staff of Canon Hospice, caregivers Tanya Glover and Debra Gilmore, and Betty Garland and the staff of The Academy House. Services will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 631 State St, New Orleans. Visitation is from 10am – 12pm followed by Mass at 12pm.
