Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Hall Shipley, loving mother, sister, daughter and wife, departed this life Monday, November 6, 2017. "Beth" as she was known to her friends and family, was born February 6, 1942 in Middletown, Ohio. Beth married her high school sweetheart Michael Shipley in 1961 in Southern California and had three daughters. Michael and Beth celebrated 56 years of marriage this past February. Their lives afforded them incredible travels and great love. Beth graduated Nursing School as a Registered Nurse and worked in that profession her entire career. Beth had a voracious appetite for knowledge, travel, art, literature and the outdoors. Beth nurtured her family starting in California in the 1960's and eventually landed in New Orleans in 1984. Beth worked as a Psychiatric Nurse in New Orleans and was afforded a chance to work abroad with her husband in the United Arab Emirates. She worked with the Government of the United Arab Emirates as the Assistant Director of Nurse recruiting for 10 years and was revered for that work. Upon her return to New Orleans, she worked with Tulane Hospital and West Jefferson Hospital until her retirement in 2014. Beth was preceded in death by loving parents, Mary Elizabeth Hagar-Hall and William Graham Hall. Beth regrettably leaves a brother Bill Hall, two beautiful sisters Susie Gregoire and Tina Kendall. Beth is survived by her loving husband Michael Ervin Shipley, three adored daughters, Jennifer Elizabeth Vitagliano, Christine Elizabeth Carni and Deborah Elizabeth Schumacher. Beth devotedly loved her grandchildren, Michael Shipley, Elle Stratton, James Vitagliano, Taylor Anne and Bennett Carni, Madison and Jourdan Schumacher. Beth was gifted with 5 precious great-grandchildren. Beth's extended family includes Jennifer's husband Ric Vitagliano, her beautiful nieces, nephews and their children and families and extended families. She enjoyed and celebrated life with many friends and will be dearly missed. Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life with us. Flowers may be sent to the Funeral Home.
