Barry Edward Tassin suddenly and unexpectedly entered Heaven September 23, 2017 a day before his 58th birthday. He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 35 years Karla Martin Tassin and son Jeffery Edward Tassin. He will never be forgotten by his godchildren Rachel Grant and Kristian Vicknair, who could get anything out of their parrain. Brother of Gail Tassin. Sisters-in law include: Kim Tabor (Gary), Kitty Adams (Larry), and Karen Martin, along with many other family and friends.
Barry was born in Marksville, LA and a 27 year resident of Harahan, LA where he was a longtime truck driver delivering medical supplies for Owens and Minor.
“Berry” called by his wife, loved treasure hunting and researching anything about the 1715 fleet shipwrecks in Sebastian, FL –hoping one day to strike it rich. More importantly he loved tending to his bee hives every weekend. His honey was his gold. “Saddie’s Sweet Stuff”, harvesting every spring and fall was something everyone around looked forward to. The smile on his face bringing in that honey was priceless. Every morning when he was off work, he set aside time to spend with his doggies Saddie and Molly, as they all watched the bees and hunted for lizards. He also loved explaining to anyone willing to listen about his bees and treasure.
A Celebration of his life will be held at Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home, 1600 N Causeway Blvd, Metairie, LA 70001 on Friday, September 29, 2017 from 10:00AM-1:00PM.
