Bert W. Weathersby

Bert W. Weathersby Jr. age 70, passed away on October 16, 2018. He was born on January 22, 1948 in New Orleans, LA and was raised in Jefferson, LA. He graduated from East Jefferson High School. Bert served in the United States Airforce as a staff sergeant from November 1966 to April 1970 during the Vietnam War. Bert was a loving father, son, brother who enjoyed cookouts by the pool, motorcycle riding, sports, outdoors and playing games of chance. He will always be remembered for his even temperament, quiet nature, and friendly personality. He was a DIY guy and led a very structured life with a schedule for everything.
Bert is preceded in death by his father, Bert W. Weathersby Sr., his mother Pauline S. Weathersby, and his nephew, Trey Riddick. Bert is survived by his partner, Shirley Arseneaux, his son, Paul Weathersby, his sister Paula Riddick, and his grandson Jacob Weathersby, nieces Patti and Beth Riddick, and nephew David Riddick.
Visitation will be held on November 2, 2018 from 2 to 4 PM at Tharp Sontheimer Funeral Home, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd., Metairie, LA. Military honors to begin at 3:30. Condolences may be expressed online at www.tharpsontheimerfh.com. Information call 504 835-2341.
