Bertha Bolaños Malespin, 91, of Kenner, La, was received into the Kingdom of God on Wednesday August 30th, 2023 after a full and accomplished life.
Bertha was born on August 8th, 1932 to the late Bertha Maria Vargas and Miguel Angel Bolaños Zelaya in Managua Nicaragua. In 1952, Bertha and Carlos Malespin were married in Managua, Nicaragua. In 1962 Bertha and Carlos moved to New Orleans with their 7 children.
Bertha was the matriarch of her large and very close family including her 7 children, grandchildren (11), great grandchildren (23) and great-great grandchildren (5), all of whom she loved dearly. She was a central figure in the lives of all her decedents. She was cherished and beloved by all those who knew her.
Bertha spent her days surrounded by the love of her family, friends and church. She was a devoted member of St.Clement of Rome church and was devoted to her faith in Christ. She was the foundation of the family and will be missed dearly by all.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carlos and her youngest son Miguel and is survived by her children Yadira Paz Malespin (Gabe >), Carlos Enrique Malespin (Vicky), Roberto Jose Malespin, Bertha Maria Jouandot (Ronnie), Esmerlada (Liz) Isabel Keeney (Michael), Gustavo Martin Malespin (Karen), Miguel Alfredo Malespin >, 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren, and her sister Martha Bolaños, whom she loved dearly.
Services will be held at St. Clement of Rome on 9/6/23 with Visitation and Mass at 10:15 AM followed by interment at Garden of Memories.
