Beryl Rusakof Gurievsky

Beryl Rusakof Gurievsky passed away peacefully on Sunday November 3, 2019 at the age of 90. She is a native of New Orleans, LA.
Beryl was someone who enjoyed working for a cause in which she believed, but did not like being in the spotlight. She was happy to work in the background and derived satisfaction from doing the job and contributing to a worthwhile cause. Beryl graduated from Nichols High School and attended Newcomb College. She was active in various school Parent Teacher Associations. She was a room mother for all of her four children and was involved with her Synagogue Sisterhoods and Hadassah. She served as treasurer for her high school Senior Class, and elementary school PTA and Hadassah.
Loving wife of 69 years to Joseph “Joe” Gurievsky. Mother of Evelynn Freed (Michael), Mark Gurievsky, Barry Gurievsky (Darlene) and David Gurievsky (Lisa). Caring grandmother of Laura, Neal, Hannah, Emily, Kyle, Nicole, Haley and Ava. Great grandmother of Noa, Eli, Benjamin, Jack, Tobin, Evan and Remy. Daughter of the late Norman and Frannie Rusakof. Sister of the late Rae Reingold (the late George). Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation Tharp Sontheimer Tharp Funeral Home, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd. Metaire on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. Interment in Chevra Thilim Memorial Park Cemetery.
