Carolyn D. Cresson

Carolyn Cresson, 78, of Metairie passed away on June 2, 2022 at Ochsner Medical Center. She held a Master’s Degree in Education from University of New Orleans and was a retired educator, after teaching many years in the Jefferson Parish Public School System. She is survived by Douglas, her beloved husband of 54 years; her two loving daughters Yvette Cresson Cornella (Erik) and Michelle Cresson Black (Doug); her three grandsons Will, Henry and Ray Black; and her sister Barbara Ricks. She was preceded in death by her parents Austin and Beulah Deitch, her sister Janice Young and her grandson Austin Black. A funeral Mass will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, June 10 at St. Christopher the Martyr Catholic Church in Metairie. A reception for family and friends will follow. A private inurnment at St. Roch Cemetery will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider dedicating Masses in Carolyn’s name or donations to the National Breast Cancer Foundation or the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women Campaign.
