Tribute

Christian (Chris) Owen Lotz Sr., age 61, loving father of four and devoted husband to Sena Pearce Lotz, passed away in the late hours of Sunday, June 12th at North Oaks Hospital after a courageous battle with his health. Christian was born June 9th1961 to parents Edward and Judith Lotz in Jefferson, LA. Later in life Christian met and married a woman that could only be described as his soulmate, Sena Pearce. As the Lotz family grew Christian and Sena moved to the northshore becoming permanent members of the community.

He is survived by loving wife of 20 years, Sena Pearce Lotz; his four amazing children; Christian Jr. (Desiree), Krystin, Benjamin (Kasey), and Leslie; and nine adoring grandchildren; Kyle, Donovan, Owen, Olivia, Madison, Lawson, Sloane, Mason, and Merrick. He is also survived by his brother EdwardLotz Jr. (Kathey) and sister Terri Schwehm (Noah). Christian is also survived by his two loving fur babies: Gunny and Angel.  He is preceded in death by his sisters, Judy Fontana and Pam DeLaughter, Grandchild Allegra, and Godchild Brandi Lotz.

Christian, a proud member of the United States Marine Corp Reserve, took great pride in serving his country with honor while upholding the Oath he swore. He was also a truck driver for over 35 years but his passion was powerlifting.  He devoted 16 years to the study of Shaolin Kung Fu, (that he often tried to practice on his grandchildren from time to time).  Chris loved his children and grandchildren more than anything.  He had those famous sayings that his grandchildren always looked forward to and knew came with every phone call and visit; “Prove It” and “You owe me $5”.   He was an active member at First Baptist Church of Ponchatoula where he attended every Sunday morning.  There was never a doubt that anyone who met Chris either left with a smile or had a laugh.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 2,2022  from 12:00 pm 2:00 pm with a Service following at First Baptist Church of Ponchatoula, 325 East Pine Ponchatoula, LA 70454.  If you wish to remember Chris in a special way, donations  in his memory can be made to Sena via Venmo @Sena-Lotz.
