Clark Stephen Marter, 61, of Kenner, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents the late Ralph Marter and Ethel Clark Marter, his sister Lauren Marter, his niece Kimberly Irwin, and his faithful pet, Frank. Clark is survived by his loving wife Kathleen Hingle Marter, his daughter Melanie Schad(Shane), his sons Steven and Dustin Marter, and his stepchildren Shelley Rodriguez and Glynn Romagosa, Jr.(Rachel). In addition to his children, Clark also leaves behind his sister Kerry Billedeau, his brother Ralph Marter, Sr., and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family. Clark was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on July 25, 1956. He enjoyed traveling, fine dining, and spending time with his devoted wife Kathleen and their 2 cats, Harry & Sammy. A great nephew of the late bandleader Harry James, Clark adored big band music and playing his trumpet. He loved to work and was a truck driver for Saia Motor Freight Line from 1984 to 2013. His trucking career went hand in hand with his love of local cuisine. Known to listeners as “The Gourmet Truck Driver”, Clark was a frequent caller on WWL’s The Food Show with Tom Fitzmorris. He lived his life to the fullest and will be missed dearly. Relatives, friends, and former coworkers are invited to attend a Prayer Service on Tuesday morning, May 15, 2018 at 11:00 at Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd., Metairie.
