David Joe Myers

David Joe Myers passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at the age of 80. He was born in Muncie, IN to the late Humphrey David Myers and Dorothy Dolores Robertson Myers. Dave is survived by his children Brian Myers (Robin) and Deborah Myers Kraft (Michael), two grandchildren, Bethany and Amanda (Jason), and two great-grandchildren, Revan and Kerrigan.

Dave was employed at Speedring in Cullman, AL as a lathe machinist and was a master at machining, finishing, and polishing metal. He worked on components used in many NASA missions, including the Hubble and James Webb Space Telescopes and the space shuttle. In 2004, Dave moved to Metairie, LA to be closer to his daughter & son-in-law and enjoy retirement life.
Dave jumped out of retirement in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina to help rebuild the family apartment business, Angele Apartments. “Mr. Dave” quickly became a beloved fixture as the apartment manager for almost 20 years and will truly be missed by the Angele Apartments community.

Mr. Dave enjoyed many things in life including the New Orleans Saints, Alabama football, fried catfish, and an ice-cold Blue Moon beer.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Ochsner Medical Center Main Campus for the excellent care & compassion shown to Mr. Dave.

Arrangements entrusted to Tharp Funeral Home, with a private service & internment at Lake Lawn Metairie to be held by the immediate family at a later date.
