Erminie Rita Maurin Buhler was born in New Orleans on January 22,1930 to Amelia Caroline Maurin and Louis Henry Maurin. She was an only child very gifted vocally, played the piano, and wore a captivating smile proudly. Erminie graduated from Kohn High School 1948, married Clarence H Buhler, Jr, a childhood sweetheart in 1949 at First Street Presbyterian Church then traveled with her husband while he was serving in the army during the Korean War. Their eldest child Kathleen Buhler Kearns was born 1954 in Alaska (Son-in-Law, Samuel Lane Kearns, Grandson Brett Thomas Kearns, Great-grandson Kaison Joseph Kearns) followed by their daughter Elida Anne Buhler Hopper born 1955 in New Orleans (Grandchildren, John Albert Hopper and Sarah Rosa Hopper Goodlett, Grandson-in-law Dustin Philip Goodlett, Great-grandchildren Hunter Philip Goodlett and Weston Clay Goodlett), Clarence Henry Buhler, Ill born 1957 in Japan (Granddaughter, Kendall Blair Buhler, Grandson-in-law Nathan James Stewart, Greatgranddaughter Paisley Regina Stewart) Louis Henry Buhler, Sr born 1959 in New York (Daughter-in-law, Dianne Wetta Buhler, Grandchildren, John Michael Buhler and Philip Joseph Buhler, Louis Henry Buhler, Jr, Mark Maurin Buhler, Great-grandson Parker Elliot Buhler) lastly Erminie Karen Buhler born 1961 in New Orleans (Grandson Joshua Michael Pazos, Granddaughter-in-law Megan Anne Pazos, Great-grandson, Cayde Thomas Pazos).

Although Erminie was quiet busy during her childbearing years in the 50’s and 60's, she was a strong woman, enjoyed her family and attended many PTA meetings. In the 60's and early 70's Erminie worked part-time at Walgreens Pharmacy uptown and was a Substitute Teacher at Mc Donogh #7 Grade School. Erminie began working for South Central Bell. She and her husband moved to Harahan, Louisiana in 1979. Erminie then became a member of Jefferson Presbyterian Church and later laid her husband to rest in 1980.

Shortly thereafter one of her daughters convinced her to take a cake decorating class and a computer class at Delgado. Through the 80's and early 90’s Erminie Rita Maurin Buhler went back to her comfort zone and started performing with the Jefferson Symphony Chorus, a subsidiary of Jefferson Performing Arts Society. She retired from BellSouth in 1985.

Erminie Rita Maurin Buhler is already well missed, she left a family legacy built on love, understanding, strength and commitment. She was a lovely lady. The family wishes her well on her new heavenly role and finds comfort that she will always be watching over us.

LA 70087. Reception to follow burial: Jefferson Presbyterian Fellowship Hall.
