Fay Toby Parnes

Fay Zuckerman Parnes, 83, died on January 1st, 2021. She leaves two children, Janet Markowitz and Mitchell Parnes (Mindy), eight beloved grandchildren, Scott, Michael, Rachel, Cameron, Samantha, and Danielle Markowitz, and Jena and Manya Parnes, her sisters, Esther Shaiman (Burt, deceased) and Karen Soll (Eddie), and sister-in-law, Sandy Parnes (Leon, deceased). She is also survived by her many first cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 45 years, Stanley. Fay was born in New Orleans. She graduated from Fortier High School. She was a nursery school teacher at Communal Hebrew School. She worked as an executive assistant at Encyclopedia Brittanica. She later became Principal for the Beth Israel Sunday School. She owned a jewelry business with her partner, Pat, in her beloved Uncle Morris’ store, J Herman & Son. Fay was viewed by all as a loving, generous, and strong matriarch. Due to the pandemic, services will be limited to immediate family. Others are invited to join via Zoom on Monday, January 4th at 1PM (MEETING ID: 715 533 5047).
