Gaspar Gerald Trapani

Gaspar “Bubby” Gerald Trapani, age 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, March 7, 2024 in Jefferson, LA. He was born on January 31, 1936 in New Orleans, LA to the late Louis Paul Trapani and Mathilda Decedue Trapani.
After graduating from Delgado as a Cabinet Maker, he installed church pews throughout Louisiana with Riecke Cabinet Works. He later worked for the City of New Orleans, where he retired as a Supervisor of Property Management. Bubby loved refurbishing antiques, fishing, rabbit hunting, going on Disney Trips, and playing slots at the casino. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his wife, daughter and grandchildren.
He leaves to cherish his memories to his loving wife of 52 years, Belverdere Damare Trapani; his daughter, Tracey Schiro and her husband John; grandchildren, Jude Schiro and Gianna Schiro; sister, Joann Dominguez and her husband Robert John; and his sister-in-law, Paulette Matta. Also survived by his nieces and nephews; William Judson, Jr., Gina (Scott) Brothers, Lisa (Max) Chotto, Louis (Heidi) Judson, Robin (Chad) Savoie and Nick Matta; and a host of other relatives and friends. Gaspar will forever be in the hearts of those who loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Antionette “Netsy” Judson and her late husband William “Billy” Judson, Sr.
Family and friends of Gaspar are invited to attend to the Visitation on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 631 State St. New Orleans, LA from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 12:30 PM. He will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery.
