Genevieve Eck

Genevieve “Jenny” Trenticosta Eck, born on June 28, 1928, passed away on March 16, 2018 in New Orleans at the age of 89. Jenny was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Harold Adam Eck. And is survived by son Dr Patrick Charles Eck (Janis) and daughter Maria Eck Bullard (Hugh), granddaughters Jennifer Eck Frederickson (Chad), Emily Eck, Jenna Bullard Bird (Geoffrey), Mia Bullard (fiancé, Colby Chapman), Olivia Bullard & Emma Bullard, grandson Trent Bullard (fiancé, Scarlett Myers), and great-grandchildren Kay & Will Frederickson and Kate Bird. She was also loved by a host of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother Joseph Trenticosta. And was preceded in death by her parents Margaret Leahy Trenticosta and Anthony Trenticosta, as well as siblings Rosemary Trenticosta Finigan (John), Theresa Trenticosta Schmitt (Henry), Dominic Trenticosta (Rita), Thomas Trenticosta, Anthony Trenticosta (Helen) and Burnell Schultis. Mrs. Eck was a school teacher and dedicated parishioner of Our Lady of Good Counsel for many years, and also taught at Our Lady of Lourdes School. After her retirement, she volunteered for many years as a Eucharistic Minister at Touro Infirmary, serving those in the hospital. After being displaced by Hurricane Katrina, she spent 11 years in Little Rock, Arkansas but always missing her native home of New Orleans. She finally returned to New Orleans to enjoy the last two years of her life. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend to many. Those who were blessed to have known and loved her will miss her dearly. Visitation will be held on Monday morning, March 26, 2018 from 9:00-11:00 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church at 1307 Louisiana Avenue, with Funeral Mass at 11:00.
