Gerald Sanders Berenson MD, internationally renowned academic cardiologist and founder of the Bogalusa Heart Study. Died November 22, 2018 at 96. Born in Bogalusa, La. September 19, 1922, to the late Eva and Meyer Berenson. Married for 67 loving years to Joan Seidenbach of New Orleans. Together they had 4 children, 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and numerous dogs. Funeral Sunday at Congregation Shir Chadash at 1 pm, visitation at 12. Burial private.
