John Edward Clay

John “Johnnie” “PawPaw” Edward Clay passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at the age of 85. He was a native and lifelong resident of New Orleans, LA. He received Christ at a young age. John was a veteran of the United States Army and worked as a longshoreman over 25 years. John was also a member of Avenue Steppers Young Men Olympics and was a Grand Marshall of the Scene Booster Club. Johnnie enjoyed listening to second line music, watching the Saints games, and watching old cowboy shows. He was a devoted husband to Olivia C. Clay. Caring father of Vanshan, Lester, Tracey, Richard and Sabrina. Loving grandfather of thirteen grandchildren. Son of the late John and Evelyn Clay. Brother of Phillip Clay and the late Cuttie Jones. Also survived by a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Causeway Blvd. Metairie, on Friday, January 14, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Restlawn Park Cemetery, Avondale.
