John Heine

John T. Heine Sr. passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday evening, March 3, 2018 at 8:31 pm. He was 75 years old. Beloved husband of Mary Gisclair Heine for over 47 years. Loving father of Beverly Heine Lopez (Elio Lopez III), John Heine Jr. (Tam Tran), Joshua Heine (Karen Heine), and Adam Heine (Brandi Heine). Grandfather of Gabrielle Heine, Chanse Balser, Gage Lopez, Jade Lopez, Bradley Heine, Chelsie Heine, Remy Heine, and expected Baby Heine. Great-grandfather of Landon, Layla, and Andreas. Son of the late Harold J. Heine Sr. and Althea Memleb Heine. John was a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of Westwego. He received a Master’s Degree in Education from Loyola University in New Orleans and was an educator for 54 years.
The family would like to express their most sincere gratitude to John’s family and friends, Dr. Ramirez and the staff of Ochsner Hospital, and Notre Dame Hospice for their love and support. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to St. Jude’s Hospital are preferred.
