Joyce Leah Herwig

Our heavenly mother, Joyce Salassi Herwig, passed away on March 22, 2018 at the age of 88. Beloved wife of the late Ernest C.L. Herwig, Jr. Loving mother of Sandra H. Michel (Larry), Julie H. Romagosa and the late Dennis C. Herwig. Grandmother of Stephanie, Stacey, Shelley (Blaise), Natalie (Dave) and Caitlin. Dear Great grandmother to Casey, Daniel, Blaise and Olivia. On the same day, as she was passing up to heaven, she crossed over and gave us a birth of sunshine to her beautiful great grandson, Benjamin David Bass. Daughter of the late Jeanette Cecilia Bickham Salassi and Guy Vincent Salassi, Sr. Sister of the late Guy and Albert Salassi. She was a good natured person and never did complain. Her selfless love will live in our hearts and memories of her family. She was born and raised in New Orleans and was a resident of Jefferson for over 65 years. Her two daughters would like to give special thanks to everyone at St. Joseph Nursing Home of Harahan and Hospice Associates. Funeral Services will be private.
