Judith Wright Bowers

Judith (Judy) Wright Bowers, a resident of River Ridge, Louisiana, departed from this world on April 23, 2024, at the age of 82. She was born on October 3, 1941, in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was the beloved daughter of Carroll Silverman Bowers and Dolores Irving Wright Bowers.

Judy graduated from Louisiana State University with a Liberal Arts degree and from Loyola University with a Master of Science in Education. Her love of teaching led her to teach in multiple Jefferson Parish Schools in which she taught English and Spanish. She also held her own reading clinic, teaching and tutoring children with dyslexia and learning disabilities. Her kindness and dedication left lasting impacts on colleagues and students alike.

July is survived by her sister, Lawlene Crystal Bowers Kaplan; nieces Lisa Swain Kaplan Beychok (Benjamin Shelley Beychok), Caroline Ashley Kaplan Lemoine (Paul Kevin Lemoine), Laura Ellen Kaplan, and Deborah Lynn Kaplan McKinnon (Shannon Patrick McKinnon); nephews David Alan Kaplan (Aysha Mahmound) and Michael Crawford Kaplan.

She was preceded in death by her parents Carroll Silverman Bowers and Dolores Irving Wright Bowers; and brother Robert Irving Bowers.

Judy will be remembered by her love of life and sense of humor. She loved to have a good time, and she will be especially missed by her family and friends.
