Katherine L. Brown

Katherine Brown passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 21, 2023. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1926 to the late Frank M. Levy and Norma D. Levy. She was married to the late Eugene Brown. Together they had two sons, Norman Brown (deceased) and Randall Brown along with his wife Andrea Hollatz-Brown and grandson Mark Brown.
She attended Tulane University and Soule Business College. Katherine honed her admired skill of listening to people while helping them meet their obligations during her 40 year career with the IRS. Her approach was to give the person ten minutes to complain and declare the unfairness of the matter before getting to business. She was disappointed when the IRS prohibited the claims teams from sponsoring a buzzard at the Audubon Zoo. She will be dearly missed by all the wonderful people who visited her while she sat on her front porch swing. She loved all her visitors and helpers. Katherine was a devoted member of Carrollton United Methodist for over 94 years.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Friday, November 3, 2023 at Tharp Funeral Home, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd., Metairie, LA 70001.
