Maria del Rosario Hedman Hernandez

Maria del Rosario Hedman Hernandez, 74, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 16th, 2021 at her residence in Kenner, LA. She was born on November 1st, 1946 in Puerto Cortés, Honduras to Gazar Hedman and Maria Asunción Morazán. Throughout her life, she was an educator and housewife. She had a passion for dancing, especially bachata. Rosario enjoyed buying lottery tickets, getting her hair and nails done, and connecting with people. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Ortelio González. She is survived by her husband, Manuel Hernandez, and her five children, Alex Alaniz, Scarlett Alaniz Hedman, Saby Castro Acosta, Carlos Castro, and Roberto Carlos Alonzo. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Axel Alaniz, Sabby Vannessa Altamirano, Alex Alberto Alaniz, Kevin Castro, Gustavo Alaniz, Alexa Asiel Alaniz Colomer, Alex Edgardo Alaniz, Carmen Emily Acosta, Josh Diaz, Santiago Alaniz, and Natalia Marie Alonzo and a host of 7 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Gathering wil take place at Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd., Metairie, LA 70001 on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 from 2:00 pm-3:00 pm followed by a Funeral Mass.
