Marie Ingraham Jumel, age 94 years, born September 13, 1922, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2017 at Our Lady of Wisdom Healthcare Center in New Orleans. She was preceded in death by her husband John Allen Jumel III. Marie was a loving mother to Mignon Jumel Nothacker, wife of Gregory W. Nothacker; Allen Joseph Jumel, Mathilde Jumel Wimberly, wife of Gerard E. Wimberly; Sarah Cherry Jumel, Louise Jumel Williamson, wife of Duncan Williamson. She was a wonderful grandmother to Aimee Nothacker Phillips, wife of Stephen J. Phillips, William G. Nothacker, partner of Duncan L. M. Milne; Alice Marie Nothacker, Frederick (Fritz) Irvin Dymond III, Michael Richard Dymond, Eve Jumel Williamson and great-grandsons Lincoln John Phillips and Wald Edward Phillips. During World War II, Marie worked in the engineering department at Consolidated Aircraft Corp. on Lake Pontchartrain where the PBY aircraft were manufactured. She also tailored uniforms as a member of American Women’s Volunteer Service (A.W.V.S.). She was an active and devoted choir member at St. Dominic Church for over 24 years.
