Shirley Marie Bryant

Shirley Marie Bryant passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at the age of 78. She was a native of Greensburg, LA and a resident of Ponchatoula, LA. Loving mother of John Bryant (Phyllis), Elizabeth Towe, Stephen Bryant (Tisha), Matthew Bryant (Elizabeth) and the late Temple Bryant. Caring grandmother of Phillip, Matthew, Catherine, James, Samantha, Dustin, Stevi Jo, Kristen, Lanie and Cassidy. Preceded in death by the late James H. Bryant. Also survived by many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Shirley loved music and dancing, attended as much live theater as possible, had the soul of an artist, and was a prolific writer.  She left many drawings and paintings.  Her journals over the decades describe the joy of life, frankly discuss obstacles and challenges, and leave wisdom to those left behind.  Like the lyrics of an old rock-n-roll song she loved, Shirley is, “As free as a bird now.”  Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Pine Ridge Methodist Church 3893 LA-440 Kentwood, LA 70444, on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held prior starting at 10 a.m. Interment to follow.
