Stanford Luke McReynolds

Stanford Luke “Stan” McReynolds, age 83, of Metairie, LA went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 6th, 2021. He was born on March 21, 1938 to parents, Wilbert and Ruby McReynolds in DeRidder, LA.
Stanford moved to New Orleans, LA at the age of 19. He will be remembered for being a loving husband, father, grandfather (Paw), great-grandfather, brother, uncle and a beloved friend to many, He never met a stranger.
He was a strong Christian man. He walked faithfully with the Lord and shared his faith with his family and friends. Stanford worked as a salesman for Tarride Sales for 46 years- the only job he ever had. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Loved traveling the world with the love of his life, Gayle. Stan loved restoring old cars, especially 1966 Mustangs. He gifted each of his children with a vintage Mustang when they graduated from High School.
Everyone who knew him loved his sense of humor. He had an endless supply of jokes and always had one on the tip of his tongue.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 60 years, Gayle McReynolds; children, Tammy Schermerhorn and Clarence of Gulf Breeze, FL, Missy Scifo and George of Metairie, LA, Connie Callahan and Jimmy of Spring, TX, Daniel McReynolds of Metairie, LA, Matthew McReynolds and Katie of Gulf Breeze, FL; grandchildren, Amanda Chauvin and Jason of Baton Rouge, LA, Ashley Brighton and Steven of Pensacola, FL, George and Madison Scifo of Metairie, LA., Quinn,, Hayden, Emma, and Maggie Callahan of Spring, TX, and Luke, Josie, and Nathan McReynolds of Gulf Breeze, FL; and great-grandson Bennet Brighton of Pensacola, FL; brother David McReynolds of DeRidder, LA; and sister Grace Coburn and Bob of Harrisburg, IL; cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert and Ruby; brothers, Leonard and Wilbert; and sisters, Elizabeth, Miriam, Lois, and Ruby Olive.
Visitation will be held at Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd, Metairie, LA 70001 on Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 10:00 am-12:00 pm followed by a Service at 12:00 pm. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in New Orleans, LA.
