Stephen Martin Ghergich Jr.

Stephen Martin Ghergich Jr. peacefully entered into eternal rest January 15, 2023 at home surrounded by his family. He was 88 years old, born January 27, 1934. He is preceded in death by his parents the late Stephen Martin Ghergich Sr. and Geraldine G. Ghergich. Survived by his wife of 53 years, Alberta (Abby) Ghergich, daughter Stephanie G. Dufrene, and grandchildren Gabrielle Hannah Dufrene and Nicholas Kent Dufrene. Stephen was a retired bail bondsman and his passion was training race horses. He was the former President Elect of Dawn Busters Kiwanis Club for many years. Stephen was born and raised in New Orleans and resided in Metairie for the past 48 years. Stephen’s family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Compassus Hospice for their loving and compassionate care of Stephen especially Tamika, Carly, and Candice. In lieu of services the family wishes to have a private celebration of his life and asks for prayers at this time.
