Billie A. Hammond, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2017. Beloved husband of 69 years to Nannie Ruth Hammond. Beloved father of Thomas Bryant Hammond (Jutta) and Susan H. Green (Howard). Beloved Poppa of Erika Nolan (Emory), Sonoma, Makayla, and Naomi Hammond, Stephanie Green (Zeke Vanderhoek), Dana Reese (Molly), Paul and Ryan Casseles. Great grandfather of Ella, Ruby, and Isabella Vanderhoek, Ben and Abby Green. Poppa will be missed by Labran and Emma Grace Jeandron and Sofia Roberts. Billie was a Seabee (C-2) in the US Navy, serving in WWII and Korean Conflict. He was a 32nd degree Mason, member of Blue Masonic Lodge in Belleville, IL and a member of Ainad Temple-East St. Louis. He worked for TRRA of St. Louis from 1955-1985. The family wishes to thank his caregivers, Andrea Mouton, Sandra Duncan, Audrella Upshaw, Ann Mitchell, Melissa and the entire team at Homeinstead.
