Carmel M. Bajon, born October 17, 1923, died January 3, 2018 at Cannon Hospice Jefferson , age 94, lifelong resident of New Orleans. Mother of Eric O. Bajon, Mary B. Miller and Janice B. Reed. Grandmother of James A. Miller, Gregory A. Reed and Ryan A. Reed. Great grandmother of Remy Reed, Isabel Reed and Mia Reed. In 1940 she worked for the State at Port of Embarkations in New Orleans, then US Maritime Commission and US Department of Navy at Ferline Building, then US Naval base, Algiers, before becoming a housewife and mother. Carmel was a longtime parishioner of St. Pius X Catholic Church, participating in the Altar Society, Marians of New Orleans and was a member of lay Carmelite order. A Memorial Mass was held at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 6666 Spanish Fort Blvd, New Orleans. Inurnment was in Metairie Cemetery.
