Charles Maurice Kelly, age 92, passed away peacefully in New Orleans on Saturday, May 20, 2017. Beloved husband of the late Melba Millaudon Kelly. Devoted father of Cynthia (Michael) Kelly Vollenweider and the late Kathleen Ann Kelly. Grandfather of Kelly Gilmore (Maurice), Katherine Roques (Andre), Michael Vollenweider, Jr (Krislyn). Great grandfather of Eli and Ian Gilmore and Adele and Andre Roques, III. Mr. Kelly was a native and lifelong resident of the New Orleans area, a Navy veteran of World War II, a member of the Carpenter’s Local Union No. 1846 and a member of Jerusalem Temple Shrine.
Relatives and friends of the family, Carpenter’s Union, McDonald’s Coffee Boys and Jefferson Presbyterian Church Food Bank are invited to attend funeral services from the Metairie home of THARP-SONTHEIMER-THARP, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd. at 43rd Street on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 12:00PM; with visitation beginning at 10:00AM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Skin Cancer Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
