Rosenberg, Esther Barber

A woman of unyielding strength and courage, Esther Rosenberg passed away on November 12, 2017. She was born in Krakow, Poland and emigrated to the US when she was three. She was the second child of the late Abraham and Rose Barber and sister of the late Miriam Katz and Saul Barber.
Esther was the loving, devoted, and supportive wife of the late Simon Rosenberg. They were known as the “1825 Tulane” family.
She is survived by her four children: Harry Rosenberg (Kimberly), Ricky Rosenberg (Laurie), Cindy Denn (Avrom), and Dr. Larry Rosenberg who are all testaments to her loving kindness.
She enjoyed bowling, Mah Jongg, Reading, Tournament Bridge, Travel and Gourmet Cooking.
She was so proud of her grandchildren Jonathan Rosenberg (Audra), Walker Rosenberg (Erin), PJ Rosenberg (Anna), Frannie Buchtel (Charles), Aaron Denn, Dr. Stephanie Denn, and Ryan Rosenberg.
Nothing could make her smile wider than seeing her great grandchildren, Parker and Brenner Rosenberg, Maya and Jasper Rosenberg, and Audrey and Clark Buchtel.
Esther possessed an impeccable sense of style. Always fashion forward in appearance, and when she walked into a room it was always with an air of dignity.
A true woman of grandeur, compassion, and kindness.
She had a passion for living and enjoyed life and her family.
The family would like to thank her dedicated physicians, Dr. Marc Friedman, and Dr. Jayne Gurtler for giving her exceptional medical care through the years.
We would also like to thank Pam Gill, Gail Green, and the compassionate women from Dependable Home Health Care. Our heartfelt thanks are bestowed upon Keyawana Collins for her never ending desire to care for, befriend, and comfort our mother.
Funeral services will be held at Congregation Gates of Prayer Synagogue, 4000 West Esplanade Ave, Metairie, LA 70002, on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 1:00 PM. with visitation beginning at 12:00 Noon. Rabbi Robert Loewy will officiate. Interment following in Anshe Sfard Cemetery, New Orleans.
